DONINGTON ANGLING CLUB
Constitutional Rules
- The Club is called Donington Angling Club, and its aim shall be to provide angling and fish preservation in an equitable manner.
- The Club and its membership shall ensure the Mission Statement and Equity Statement are adhered to at every opportunity.
- Maximum Club Membership (Including Associate Members) to be decided at the discretion of the Committee. (2025 set to 100)
- The Committee has the power to reject any application for membership and to expel any member for conduct prejudicial to the Club’s interest. All new and renewal membership applications to be approved by three Committee Members.
- An Environmental Agency Licence must be held before applying for or renewing membership if a course / trout angler. No E.A. Membership required if a Marine Angler only or an Associate Member.
- Members must carry membership card and E.A. Licence (if applicable) when attending all Club Activities.
- The officers of the Club to comprise of: Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Course / Marine / Game / Predator Angling Officers, Social Officer, Marketing Officer, and two Welfare Officers along with three adult members / associate members.
- Seven Committee Members, including the Chairperson to form a quorum. All Committee members will be entitled to vote at the monthly meetings, in the event of a tie the Chairperson to have the casting vote. All Club members can vote at the A.G.M.
- A serving officer or committee member of the Club may not be an officer or committee member of another Angling Club, apart from the regional requirements for the area RA107 of the Pike Angling Club of Great Britain.
- All annual membership subscriptions to be paid from the 1st of January. Any member who does not pay their annual membership renewal by the 28th of February will be deemed to have vacated the Club. There will be a reduction of membership fee from the 1st October, 50% to be applied. Charges, Senior, Veteran, Youth, Junior, Associate
- Active Club Membership enables attendance at organised angling events and the weekly social meetings held at the “Club Headquarters” in the Donington Community Centre. (Criteria for Associate Membership applies).
- Active Members will be able to invite up to two guests during a Social Meeting and up to four guests at the Presentation Evening and other Large social events. An agreed attendance charge to be applied per event as agreed by the Committee / Organising Officer. Payment of events to be made within an agreed deadline decided by the Committee / Organising Officer.
- All Juniors (8 – 13 years} attending organised Club Events and Social Meetings must be accompanied by a Family Adult or authorised guardian (21 years plus) with Angling Competence.
- Any Junior Member reaching the age of 16 after the 16th of June will be classed as a Youth Member until his / her 18th Birthday. He / she will receive a reduction of £5 from the Adult Membership subscription fee but retain the rights of an Adult Member.
- Membership Cards are the property of the Club and must not be transferred to any other person.
- Accounts are to be kept in a proper order and independently examined annually for presentation at the AGM.
- All equipment purchased by the Club will be defined as an asset and will be the responsibility of the whole Committee. An asset register will be maintained collectively by the Angling Officers, Treasurer, Secretary and /or Chairperson.
- The Club may not dissolve so long as eight Members are willing to continue to operate it under the current Constitutional Rules.
- Any monies or assets that arises for distribution following closure / dissolution of the Club shall be supplied to approved sporting or charitable purposes within the Community of Donington as agreed by the “closing committee.”
- Some Club Trophies are competed for annually; therefore the current recipients are to return the awards in good condition and cleaned to any Committee Member within one month prior to the Annual Awards Evening.
- Committee Meetings are to be held on the first Wednesday of each month. The AGM date is to be notified to Members via the Club’s newsletter and / or the notice board.
- Admittance to the AGM and voting thereof is by current Full Club membership.
- Members wishing to make any rule changes or alterations to the Constitutional Rules must notify the Chairperson at least two weeks before the AGM to enable inclusion to the agenda.
- Members are expected to comply with all the afore mentioned rules. Any rule queries are to be clarified with the Chairperson or Secretary.
